Speaking of Time: Quantumology #1
At the first Quantumology meeting on Monday, the group identified these aspects to which time relates:
Passage through events
What do we do with time?
In response to this question, the group determined that:
We fill it
Heal in it
Grow and learn
And that in doing these things, we fulfil Purpose, Creation and Interaction.
We move through Time on a torus, as illustrated. Scientists call the waves of time through which we move Advanced and Retarded, as explained through the link here. The Present is the only point of existence in which we exist in particle format, the rest of the time we exist only as wave forms of the past and the future. We perceive age and the physical process thereof as a symptom of Entropy, whereby our relative forms as mortal beings will go through a growth, maturity and decay process in accordance with relativity.
How do our feelings relate to time?
In good times, time flies
In waiting, time slows down
Panicking speeds time up
Fear distorts time
Harmony eases time
Sleep - this is an interesting addition to the list. During sleep we have no perception of time and this can cause confusion!
We identified four time frames in discussion:
In consideration of these, the Torus illustration benefits from the addition of waves, to illustrate how time moves through the present, or rather, the Present moves through Time. Coherent time is that which we apply consciously to an activity where time allocation is measurable. Incoherent time is that which passes whilst we are unaware of it, e.g. during sleep or coma.
In consideration of past and future, it was determined that we do the following:
Here the concept of the wave on which we ride becomes important, and that the sine of this wave changes from long-wave to short-wave depending on our circumstances.
And the biology of black holes becomes relevant too... having crossed the event horizon, nothing can escape the pull of a black hole and time becomes distorted, slowing and stretching as described in the link above. Space and time break down altogether at the point of singularity, as the fabric swallowed by the black hole is condensed under pressure of gravity to become something we don't understand. There is speculation that the singularity becomes a wormhole to another dimension, through another dimension, leading to another point in this Universe or even to another Universe in a different space/time reality.
We too are singularities, with a central core of being which defies understanding. In the past/future context, existing only in the present, we have a choice only in the moment of Now - what we think, what we feel and where we are on the vertical line of relative mood/state is where we are at any given time. But in accepting the temporary nature of our state we escape the burden of past/future anxiety and allow ourselves to regain a state of brightness relatively quickly. In this reality, we are not bound by an event horizon, and employ free will in our determination to flourish and develop. The mind doesn't age, even if everything else seems to in the passage of time.

I work at a school and now know how the students feel!!! It was great to have chance to express some of the things I only ever get to think about, and debate with other like minds. This is where science meets spirituality and helps define reality!
